Description

Live in Koblenz captures the powerful musical encounter between two internationally acclaimed soloists — Aniello Desiderio and Zoran Dukic — recorded live on October 11, 2020, at the Kaisersaal of the Kurfürstliches Schloss during the Koblenz Guitar Festival & Academy in Germany.

In a year defined by lockdowns and canceled performances worldwide, this concert stands as a rare and meaningful testament to live music in times of distance. Unlike many long-standing duos formed in their youth, Desiderio and Dukic bring together fully established solo careers in a collaboration born directly on stage, before a live audience.

The program spans works originally written for orchestra, piano, harpsichord, and mixed ensembles, alongside cornerstone repertoire for two guitars. The Spanish tradition shines through dances from El sombrero de tres picos and La vida breve by Manuel de Falla, piano masterpieces by Isaac Albéniz and Enrique Granados, and the iconic Tonadilla by Joaquín Rodrigo.

The album also features sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti, the rhythmic intensity of Astor Piazzolla, and the contemporary voice of Sérgio Assad. Combining historic transcriptions with original arrangements, the duo expands the expressive and tonal possibilities of the guitar, delivering technical brilliance, dynamic interplay, and compelling musical dialogue.

A vibrant live recording that preserves the immediacy of the concert experience and celebrates the enduring power of music shared in the same space.
