Glauber Rocha is one of the leading guitarists of the new generation. He began his musical studies at the age of five and started studying guitar with Aparecido Dias dos Santos at twelve. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of São Paulo in 2009, under the guidance of Edelton Gloeden, and in the same year won the Agustín Barrios World Wide Web International Guitar Competition. He has performed in major venues in Brazil, Costa Rica, Italy, Japan, Spain, Argentina, Paraguay, Portugal, and Germany, including the Kleiner Konzertsaal Gasteig, Black Box, Carl-Orff-Saal Gasteig, and Konzertsaal Cervantes in Munich; Casa Verdi in Milan; Conservatório de Coimbra; Usina del Arte and Sala de Cámara in Buenos Aires; Teatro Amazonas in Manaus; MASP (São Paulo), Teatro Cultura Artística, and Sala São Paulo; Teatro Rondon Pacheco in Uberlândia; and the Teatro Nacional in Asunción. He has participated in several prestigious festivals, including the Koblenz International Guitar Festival, Verona Guitar Festival, Campos do Jordão Winter Festival, Leo Brouwer International Festival, Virtuoses de la Guitare, and Winners & Masters in Munich, as well as the Série de Violão Cultura Artística and Movimento Violão in São Paulo. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Munich with Franz Halász. In 2024, he released his solo album Inspiración, recorded for GuitarCoop, which received critical acclaim, including praise from Nobuaki Nagaoka of Gendai magazine. He is an Augustine Strings artist.
