Fabio Zanon is internationally recognized as one of the great guitarists of today. His activity as a guitarist, writer, conductor, teacher, and communicator has contributed to a change in the perception of the guitar in concert music. He studied music with his father, had among his teachers Antonio Guedes, Henrique Pinto, Edelton Gloeden, and Michael Lewin, and was strongly influenced by Julian Bream during his student years in London. He won two of the biggest international guitar competitions in 1996, the "Tárrega" in Spain and the GFA in the USA. He was awarded the Moinho Santista Prize in 1997, the Carlos Gomes Prize in 2005, the Bravo! Prize in 2010, and nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2011. He has been a Fellow and Visiting Professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London since 2008. He has played in major theaters and festivals and with important orchestras in more than 40 countries.
