Americas

Released by GuitarCoop in 2018, Americas is devoted to the aesthetic and cultural plurality of the American continent, bringing together works that reflect diverse national traditions and compositional approaches for the guitar.

Conceived and performed by Fabio Zanon, the album emerges from a reflection on identity, exchange, and cultural belonging. Through a carefully curated program, the guitarist offers a broad perspective on music from the Americas — repertoire often less visible in international programming when compared to the European canon.

The selection ranges from the symphonic nationalism of Manuel Ponce, Eduardo Fabini, and Eduardo Caba to the distinctive voices of guitarist-composers such as Antonio Lauro and Agustín Barrios. It also encompasses works connected to popular and urban traditions, including music associated with Carlos Gardel, the poetic songwriting of Sindo Garay, the guitar legacy of Frantz Casséus, and the refined writing of Frederic Hand.

Marked by technical authority, stylistic awareness, and artistic depth, Fabio Zanon’s performance positions Americas as a significant entry in the GuitarCoop catalogue and as a representative recording of the American musical identity within the classical guitar repertoire.
